So I decided to do the Fit Test again today. I was planning on doing it with Nate after work to show my solidarity, but I was running late and he'd already started it, so... since I already had it in my head that I was doing it today, I decided, "why not?" So as soon as I put Cora down, I busted out the DVD and did it again.
Results
High kicks: 80 (-2 from yesterday)
power jacks: 45 (+10)
power knees: 65 (+3)
power jumps: 32 (+9)
slow jumps: 4 (+1)
suicide jumps: 6 (+1)
push-up jacks: 15 (+2)
oblique planks: 27 (-10)
It doesn't surprise me that I did worse on the oblique planks today; I was totally bushed by the time they came around, I think because I pushed myself a little harder today. I didn't have yesterday's results in front of me as I was working out and, being the competitive person I am, I think I was mentally trying to make sure I did better than yesterday, so I was a bit more fierce in the beginning whereas yesterday I had no idea what I was in for, so maybe subconsciously I was saving my energy a little. Didn't feel like it at the time, though!!
Also... I thought my form was (overall) much better today. i was sloppy by the planks, but that had to do with wanting to just QUIT.

The Beginning
I'm starting this blog in hopes of not only keeping myself accountable as I embark on P90X but also so I can track my progress and make notes on things I need to do as the process evolves. This is the beginning of something new, and I am so excited. So here we are, in our last week as we know it: the week before Insanity.
This evening I took the Insanity Fit Test... next Wednesday, we (barring any mishaps) start P90X Classic. Here are my results, so I can refer back to them later and see how much I've improved (a ton, I hope!)
82 high kicks/min
35 power jacks/min
62 power knees/min
23 power jumps/min
3 slow jumps/min
5 suicide jumps/min
13 push up jacks/min (arms only slightly bending)
37 oblique planks/min
It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Except for the first exercise, the high kicks, which I kind of rushed and did more sloppily than I should have, I tried not to rush it and to stick to the exercise as it was supposed to be performed. I could have rushed and done more on some of the exercises, but what would be the point in that? I was definitely out of breath by the end, and wish I hadn't chugged water throughout-- that definitely made me feel bleh. Other than that, it was a good half hour workout and I was pleased that I saw it through.
